A NOTE FROM THE PRESIDENT
A NOTE FROM THE PRESIDENT:
SPN is officially 38 years old — quite an achievement for any organization, especially a singles group! Our Anniversary Party wasn’t a birthday celebration, but a tribute to our founding in 1988 and to the community that has kept SPN thriving ever since. Even though the weather wasn’t on our side, the evening was full of energy. We honored Julie for her service as Activities Director, installed our new Board of Directors, and enjoyed reconnecting with several past members and guests. The night included delightful entertainment from Elaine and Sue with their Abbott and Costello routine; and the Trivia game created by Karen ended with Pat and Laurie taking top honors.
We have several great events coming up soon. First is our annual Kentucky Derby Party on May 2nd at Grace’s lovely home. You can cheer on your favorite horse, join the Derby hat contest (men and women alike), play “Left, Center, Right” or yard games, or simply relax and enjoy the food and camaraderie of friends.
On May 21st, we will do an Express Via Bus Ride to downtown San Antonio and the Riverwalk.
We’ll follow that with our Memorial Day Pool Party on May 25th, always a favorite gathering. Then we’ll kick off June with a new adventure—a day trip to the Blanco Lavender Festival on June 6th, a fresh adventure to welcome the summer season.
Sue Logan,
SPN President
